Softball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Greenville Green Wave

Troy is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while Greenville is on an 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Trojans will host the Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Troy's victory against Stebbins wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans skirted past the Indians 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mimi Shaw, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Alexis Ater was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Greenville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Centerville 2-1.

Greenville's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Troy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
