Baseball Recap: Martin County Takes a Loss

Martin County easily dispatched North East Carolina Prep last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Martin County fell just short of the Ayden - Grifton Chargers by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Gators have suffered since April 3, 2024.

Martin County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Ayden - Grifton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Martin County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 31-1 win against North East Carolina Prep on the 28th. As for Ayden - Grifton, they have also already played their next match, a 10-7 victory against Greene Central on the 28th.
