Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Westwood). Everything went their way against the Valley Vista Monsoon on Tuesday as they made off with  a  25-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
  Lauren Cooper was a standout: she got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  triple. Another player making a difference was  Navi Brinkerhoff, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  runs and four  RBI.
The  win was  the third in a row for Westwood, bringing their record up to 11-10-1. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Valley Vista,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-14.
 Westwood and Valley Vista could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 105th) will meet Red Mountain (ranked 13th)  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile,  Valley Vista will  square off against  Tolleson  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  disadvantage  (183 vs. 35).
