Baseball Game Preview: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The Northridge Grizzlies will venture away from home to square off against the Roosevelt Roughriders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northridge hasn't scored more than a single run for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Northridge fell victim to Poudre and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 15-0 to the Impalas.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Roosevelt's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Fossil Ridge, falling 11-2.

Roosevelt got a good showing from Wyatt McNerney, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McNerney has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jeremiah Bradberry was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

Northridge suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Roosevelt when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
