Volleyball Recap: Elaina Kimminau's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Washington over Fort Zumwalt North

Washington lost against Fort Zumwalt North back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bluejays fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Fort Zumwalt North got the win, Washington sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. The final score came out to 27-25, 26-24, 23-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Several Bluejays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elaina Kimminau, who had 13 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Gilmor, who had 15 digs.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12-1. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they now have a winning record of 13-12-1.

Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Timberland on the 16th. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against North Point on the 16th.
