Volleyball Recap: High Point Academy's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

High Point Academy's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Blacksburg Wildcats 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Grizzlies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

High Point Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Blacksburg into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-8, 25-23, 20-25, 17-15.

High Point Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10. As for Blacksburg, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Point Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brashier Middle College Charter at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th. After both having extra time off, Blacksburg and Greenville Tech Charter will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
