Softball Recap: Pierce Triumphs

While Pierce's win against Willows wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears skirted past the Honkers 16-15. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their two-run performance the game before.

Pierce let Anayeli Acevedo and Rylie Delepierre run wild. Acevedo went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs, while Delepierre fired off two home runs, three stolen bases, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Delepierre a new career-high. Nayeli Lievanos was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pierce lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pierce's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Willows, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Honkers beat Pierce by a score of 23-16 later that day.
