Football Game Preview: Ransom Everglades Raiders vs. NSU University Sharks

The Ransom Everglades Raiders will venture away from home to take on the NSU University Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Ransom Everglades is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Miami Springs last Friday. The Raiders blew past the Golden Hawks 35-14. The Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ransom Everglades can attribute much of their success to Matthew Guevara, who rushed for 34 yards and four scores, and Will Duncan, who rushed for 118 yards on only 13 carries. Evans Branch was in the mix too, providing the Raiders with one touchdown.

Ransom Everglades' defense stepped up as well, laying out Kennan Powel six times. The heavy lifting was done by Edwin Carr and Coley Hucks, who racked up five sacks between them. The game marked Hucks' first with multiple sacks this season. Ransom Everglades received some extra help from Branch, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led NSU University over St. Brendan in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Sharks blew the Sabres out of the water with a 42-6 final score. The win was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on three straight.

NSU University's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Ransom Everglades, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.

Ransom Everglades and NSU University were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but Ransom Everglades suffered an agonizing 17-16 loss. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
