Ridgecroft hadn't done well against Pungo Christian Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ridgecroft walked away with a 7-2 win over Pungo Christian Academy. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Klaire Cherry made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Vaughan, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Evi Watson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Ridgecroft pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Ridgecroft will welcome Cape Fear Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Halifax Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pungo Christian Academy is facing Halifax Academy at the right time seeing as Halifax Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
