Recap: Liberty Christian Prep Lions vs. Foundation Christian Academy Panthers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Liberty Christian Prep Lions had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down Foundation Christian Academy 50-36. The win was a breath of fresh air for Liberty Christian Prep as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Luke Watts was on fire: he rushed for 242 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 75 yards and a touchdown. Noah Frerking was in the mix too, providing Liberty Christian Prep with two touchdowns.
Liberty Christian Prep's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they have yet to win a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 2-10 record.
Liberty Christian Prep will take on Geneva Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Geneva Classical Academy is ranked 23rd, while Liberty Christian Prep is ranked 24th). Foundation Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
