Recap: Tornillo Coyotes vs. Kermit Yellow Jackets
The Tornillo Coyotes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 65-20 whooping from Kermit. Tornillo has struggled against Kermit recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Kermit's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aleixa Lara, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was MICHAELA CAZARIN, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Tornillo bumped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kermit, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Alpine the next time they take the court. Tornillo will host Alpine at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Kermit will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
