Basketball Recap: Caden Midgette's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Wake over Leesville Road + How To Watch

East Wake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Leesville Road Pride, falling 63-42. The Warriors were down 56-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

East Wake's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Midgette, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Norman Eleby, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

East Wake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Leesville Road, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. East Wake will head out to square off against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leesville Road, they will venture away from home to challenge Athens Drive at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pride will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
