Softball Recap: Brooks Gets the Win

Brooks saw some tournament action on Friday. They blew past the Arab Knights 10-1.

Karley Moreland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Moreland was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Baylee Darby was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Faith Roberson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Brooks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Brooks' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Arab, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Brooks will take on Muscle Shoals in a tournament on Friday. As for Arab, they will be taking part in a tournament against Grissom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
