Baseball Game Preview: Boron Bobcats vs. California City Ravens

Boron is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will take on the California City Ravens at 3:15 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Boron's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when University Prep hitters got past them. Boron lost 11-1 to University Prep on Monday. The Bobcats have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, while it was California City who put the first points on the board on Tuesday, it was Vasquez who put up more. California City came up short against Vasquez, falling 8-1. The game marked the Ravens' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Boron fell to 4-1. As for California City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season.

Boron suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to California City when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Boron avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
