Clay-Chalkville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Homewood with points to spare, taking the game 35-17. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Patriots are ranked 27th).

Clay-Chalkville had a senior duo take command as Aaron Frye rushed for 188 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry and Joshua Woods rushed for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Woods is now averaging an impressive 105 rushing yards per game.

Clay-Chalkville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 382 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

One reason for the win was Clay-Chalkville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Isaiah Brown with two. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Muscle Shoals didn't have too much trouble with Mountain Brook on Friday as they won 24-7.

Clay-Chalkville's record now sits at 13-0. As for Muscle Shoals, their record is now 12-0.

Clay-Chalkville couldn't quite get it done against Muscle Shoals in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 31-21. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
