Baseball Recap: Jay Takes a Loss

Jay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to the Southside Cardinals. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Jay now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Southside, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Jay will host South San Antonio at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. South San Antonio's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Jay's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southside, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-7 win against LEE on the 8th.
