Mount Desert Island is 8-2 against Presque Isle since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Trojans will square off against the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

They fell just short of Brewer by a score of 4-2. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Witches: they've now lost seven in a row.

Mount Desert Island saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Roos, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Roos' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Presque Isle's offense. They fell just short of Caribou by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mount Desert Island's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Presque Isle, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Mount Desert Island's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Trojans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Presque Isle, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Mount Desert Island continue to outrun the ball?

Mount Desert Island took their victory against Presque Isle in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
