Football Recap: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Salida Spartans

Friday just wasn't the day for Rye's offense. They took a blow against the Salida Spartans on Friday, falling 40-0. The Thunderbolts just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Rye wouldn't let Salida keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Jose Martinez, Dominic Bachman, and Bachman picked up one apiece. Martinez is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least 11 every time he's taken the field this season.

Salida's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyus Winkler, who picked up 77 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Wyatt Farney was another key player, gaining 86 total yards and two touchdowns.
