Basketball Game Preview: Marina Mariners vs. Watsonville Wildcatz

The Marina Mariners will take on the Watsonville Wildcatz at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Marina has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Watsonville will arrive with three straight wins.

On Friday, Marina came up short against Stevenson and fell 54-46.

Meanwhile, Watsonville made easy work of Monte Vista Christian on Friday and carried off an 81-55 victory. With the Wildcatz ahead 51-22 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Watsonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Marina, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Marina lost to Watsonville on the road by a decisive 67-52 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Marina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
