Recap: Michigan Lutheran Titans vs. Howardsville Christian Eagles

It was a good run, but the Michigan Lutheran Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-57 defeat to they. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Howardsville Christian is ranked 149th).

Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Herbst, who scored 14 points along with six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Olson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Michigan Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Howardsville Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Michigan Lutheran will head out on the road to face off against Countryside Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Howardsville Christian, they will play host again and welcome Our Lady of the Lake Catholic, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
