The Hudson Cobras just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Gulf Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Hudson ended up a good deal behind Hernando and lost 64-47. The loss continues a trend for the Cobras in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gulf). They took their match on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 95-13 win over Angeline Academy of Innovation. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Underwood, who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points plus four steals. Underwood has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikha Brown, who posted ten points along with six assists and four steals.

Gulf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gulf, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Hudson was taken down by Gulf 69-39 when the teams last played back in January. Can Hudson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
