Basketball Recap: Wauwatosa West Comes Up Short

Wauwatosa West was the 81-78 winner over Germantown when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Wauwatosa West Trojans lost 76-50 to the Germantown Warhawks on Tuesday. The Trojans' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Danica Gosz was her usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 boards for Germantown. Gosz is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Jakusz, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Wauwatosa West's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Germantown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wauwatosa West will take on Menomonee Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wauwatosa West is facing Menomonee Falls at the right time seeing as Menomonee Falls is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Germantown, they will challenge Wauwatosa East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wauwatosa East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Germantown likes a good challenge.
