Basketball Recap: Genesee Comes Up Short

Genesee suffered their biggest loss since January 4th on Saturday. They came up short against the Wallace Miners, falling 56-35. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.

When it comes to explaining why Genesee lost, don't look at Vince Crowley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Crowley a new career-high in rebounds.

Even though they lost, Genesee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wallace to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Guardipee, who went 9 for 16 en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Miller, who posted 12 points and six assists.

Genesee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Wallace, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Genesee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-43 victory against Clearwater Valley on the 3rd. As for Wallace, they will face off against Genesis Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wallace is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season.
