Recap: Evansville North Huskies vs. Bloomington South Panthers
The Evansville North Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Bloomington South by a score of 33-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Evansville North has scored all season.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddy Knies, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. Vanessa Nankwenya was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Evansville North's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Bloomington South, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-10.
Evansville North will face off against Evansville Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evansville Harrison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Evansville North is ranked 96th). As for Bloomington South, they will face off against Center Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Grove is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.
