Baseball Recap: Stevensville Comes Up Short

Stevensville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whitefish Bulldogs. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Yellowjackets' highest-scoring match to date.

Stevensville got a big performance out of Jackson Guenzler, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Germane, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Stevensville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Whitefish, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stevensville will take on rival Florence-Carlton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Whitefish is set to square off against their familiar foe Bigfork at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
