Baseball Recap: Henry-Senachwine Comes Up Short

Henry-Senachwine had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-17 to make it four. They came up short against the St. Bede Bruins, falling 20-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in April.

As for St. Bede, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 25-4. Considering they have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For St. Bede's part, Geno Dinges made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dinges was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gus Burr, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and two runs. Those eight RBI gave him a new career-high. Alan Spencer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Henry-Senachwine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Bede, they will welcome Yorkville Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
