New London-Spicer extended their winning streak  to three  on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-6 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Annandale Cardinals  a   4-0 shutout. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.
Not much got past  Logan Swenson, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Annandale off the board.
 At the plate,  Cole Laughlin was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with two  doubles and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April.  Nolan Johnson was another key player,  earning two  runs and two  stolen bases.
As for Annandale, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record  this season. The  match marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.
 On Annandale's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Carter Ramsey, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base. That  stolen base marked the first that  Ramsey has  snagged this season.
 Looking ahead, New London-Spicer will host Watertown-Mayer  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Annandale, they will challenge Rockford at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
