Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Newman Comes Up Short

Cardinal Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Byron Nelson Bobcat.

Among those leading the charge was Kaitlyn Francis, who had ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Cardinal Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Byron Nelson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Cardinal Newman will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on University at 6:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Byron Nelson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against 'Iolani on the 15th.
