Basketball Recap: Carter Takes a Loss

Carter was the 50-46 winner over Gibbs when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Carter Green Hornets took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibbs Eagles on Thursday. The Green Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Carter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Emma Millington almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Millington has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abby Trull, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Carter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Gibbs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-12 record this season.

Carter will head out on the road to challenge Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gibbs, they will venture away from home to square off against Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
