Chapel Hill suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Midtown, falling 79-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chapel Hill in their matchups with Midtown: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the defeat, Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: Emahni Chambliss scored 22 points along with three steals. That was a full 51.2% of Chapel Hill's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Villa Rica's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Chapel Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Villa Rica beat Chapel Hill 69-62 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Chambliss, who scored 45 points along with four steals.
