Preview: Steele Knights vs. Clemens Buffaloes

Steele is 9-1 against Clemens since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Steele Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Clemens Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Steele is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Steele put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Judson 52-14 at home. 52 seems to be a good number for Steele as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Steele's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chad Warner, who threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Jalen Cooper, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Steele's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Judson's QB won't forget Abdon Mata anytime soon given Mata sacked him four times.

Meanwhile, Clemens came up short against East Central on Friday and fell 28-18. Clemens has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Steele's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.36 points. As for Clemens, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Steele took their victory against Clemens when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 23-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Steele since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
