Basketball Recap: Wyandanch Takes a Loss

Wyandanch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Rocky Point Eagles on the road by a 53-37 margin. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Wyandanch lost, don't look at Shayna Severe. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nyasia Murphy, who put up ten points.

Wyandanch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Rocky Point, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyandanch will welcome Westhampton Beach at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky Point, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Amityville Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
