Basketball Recap: Chatfield Takes a Loss

Chatfield blew Bear Creek out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Bear Creek got their revenge. The Chatfield Chargers fell just short of the Bear Creek Bears by a score of 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Chargers have suffered since December 6, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Chatfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore London Bright went 7-for-9 to rack up 17 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Bright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Feddersen, who posted eight points.

Caelo Sandoval was nothing short of spectacular for Bear Creek: he went 7-for-12 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Alen Avdic, who had ten points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

Chatfield's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Bear Creek, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-14.

Chatfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-47 defeat against Arvada West on the 19th. As for Bear Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-35 loss against Valor Christian on the 19th.
