Softball Recap: Mount Union Has No Trouble Against Glendale

Mount Union's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Glendale Vikings. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Ke' Andra Wible made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Williams, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Maddie Dimoff also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Mount Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mount Union moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Glendale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Mount Union wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-0 defeat against Claysburg-Kimmel on the 25th. As for Glendale, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-0 victory against Blacklick Valley on the 24th.
