Baseball Recap: Mifflin Comes Up Short

Mifflin entered their game against Whetstone on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Punchers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Punchers of the 16-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Francis Awuah made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Mifflin's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Whetstone, their record now sits at 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mifflin will venture away from home to challenge Centerburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Whetstone, they will head out to face off against Thomas Worthington at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
