Basketball Recap: Perth Amboy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Perth Amboy can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Plainfield Cardinals and fell 81-42. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th in New Jersey, while the Cardinals are ranked third in New Jersey).

Perth Amboy moved to 15-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Plainfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-2.
