Preview: Walton Braves vs. North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers
The Walton Braves will be playing at home against the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Walton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Marianna, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Walton.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabella Holden, who scored 15 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Holden scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Averi Laird, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy's 12-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Bozeman by a score of 40-30. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory North Bay Haven Academy has managed all season.
Walton's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
Walton strolled past North Bay Haven Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 61-44. Does Walton have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Bay Haven Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
