Softball Game Preview: Royal Highlanders vs. Westlake Warriors

The Royal Highlanders will face off against the Westlake Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Wednesday, Royal came up short against Thousand Oaks and fell 5-2. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly three runs.

Holly White made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chino Hills.

Kaia Tan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Olivia Tirsch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Royal and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Royal was able to grind out a solid win over Westlake when the teams last played back in March of 2023, winning 3-0. Will Royal repeat their success, or does Westlake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
