Softball Game Preview: Foothills Christian Knights vs. Bishop's Knights

Foothills Christian will head out on the road to face off against Bishop at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Monday, Foothills Christian came up short against University City and fell 6-1.

Foothills Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Mathistad, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Bishop's started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Coastal Academy. They fell just short of the Stingrays by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Stingrays: they've now lost four in a row.

Sydney Mafong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Bishop's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-1. As for Foothills Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Foothills Christian couldn't quite get it done against Bishop's when the teams last played back in April as they fell 8-3. Can Foothills Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
