Baseball Recap: Fordham Prep Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Fordham Prep had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Salesian Eagles by a score of 8-4. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

James Denning looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Derek Soroa was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Herlick, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Fordham Prep pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Salesian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Fordham Prep will challenge Cardinal Spellman at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian, they will face off against Kennedy Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gaels' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
