Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lisbon). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Winslow Black Raiders a 10-0 shutout on Monday. With that win, the Greyhounds brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Cody Osmond and Keeghan Morrissette did most of the damage at the plate: Osmond went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Morrissette went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those RBI were Osmond's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Camp, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Lisbon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winslow struck out seven times.
The victory was the third in a row for Lisbon, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Winslow, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Looking ahead, Lisbon will host Maranacook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winslow, they will venture away from home to challenge Belfast at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
