Volleyball Recap: Saranac Lake Comes Up Short

Saranac Lake lost against Beekmantown back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Storm lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The Red Storm's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Saranac Lake was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-13, 25-23.

Lexie Donaldson paced Saranac Lake's offense, picking up seven kills. Donaldson got some help from Sophie Czadzeck and her 14 assists. Rori Chenaille-Schenk controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Julia Conroy was her usual excellent self, getting 19 digs, seven kills, two aces, and one block for Beekmantown. Conroy has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Dauphinais, who had 12 digs and one block.

Saranac Lake's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Beekmantown, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Saranac Lake has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lake Placid on the 28th. As for Beekmantown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Northern Adirondack on the 29th.
