Baseball Game Preview: McKay Royal Scots vs. Woodburn Bulldogs

McKay came up short against South Albany on Tuesday, falling 15-2.

McKay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Garcia, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Woodburn had to endure an 18-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past McKay 10-2 on Monday. That looming 10-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Mason Pickett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Pickett was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Woodburn let Damien Vasquez and Trevon Grassham run wild. Vasquez went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Grassham went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Grassham a new career-high. Asa Cash was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

McKay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Woodburn, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-16 and their overall record up to 3-21.
