Recap: Wilson Tigers vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs
The Wilson Tigers won the last time they faced the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Wilson secured a 49-43 W over North Myrtle Beach. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wilson.
Wilson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leanissa Swinton, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leah Spears, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Madison Vereen and Faith Farmer certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Vereen scored 14 points along with eight steals and two blocks, while Farmer scored 14 points along with six steals. Nevaeh Washington was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Wilson's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. As for North Myrtle Beach, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.
Wilson will head out on the road to challenge South Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Myrtle Beach, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Florence at 6:00 p.m. West Florence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 180th, while North Myrtle Beach is ranked 46th).
