Pagosa Springs put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Sanford Mustangs as they made off with a 13-2 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.

Chris Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Zach Pouyer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kyler Henderson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pagosa Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Pagosa Springs pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Sanford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pagosa Springs will venture away from home to take on Alamosa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The contest will give the Pirates their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Sanford, they will head out on the road to challenge Trinidad at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
