Baseball Recap: St. Dominic Beats Bangor Christian for Their Eighth Straight Win

St. Dominic extended their postseason success on Saturday against Bangor Christian. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Saints, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Logan Leclair and Ben Dumais made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Leclair struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Dumais tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Leclair has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Leclair went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Dumais went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Daigle, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Curtis Wheeler was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The win (which was St. Dominic's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bangor Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 18-2 record.

As of now, neither St. Dominic nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
