Football Recap: Gilman Greyhounds vs. Boys Latin Lakers
Gilman had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Boys Latin Lakers onto the board and left with a 24-0 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Greyhounds as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Gilman can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Trusty, who rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gilman's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Messiah Jews was the leader with two. His also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Gilman will welcome Bullis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Boys Latin, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Landon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
