Preview: Slocomb Red Tops vs. Geneva Panthers
Slocomb is 0-10 against Geneva since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Slocomb Red Tops will be playing in front of their home fans against the Geneva Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Slocomb is out to stop a ten-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Slocomb came up short against Dale County and fell 43-34.
Meanwhile, Geneva pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Holmes County.
Slocomb's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Geneva, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.
Slocomb was dealt a bruising 56-8 loss at the hands of Geneva when the teams last played two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Geneva's Kaden Ward, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Now that Slocomb knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
