Baseball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Erwin Warriors

Owen is 0-4 against Erwin since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Owen Warhorses will take on the Erwin Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Owen has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Owen is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Smoky Mountain, falling 11-1.

Owen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephen Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Houston Mashburn also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Erwin came up short against Tuscola on Thursday and fell 7-3. The Warriors have struggled against the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Erwin now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Owen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Owen might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Erwin in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Owen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
