Volleyball Recap: Martinsville Artesians vs. Perry Meridian Falcons

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Perry Meridian Falcons, falling 3-0. The Artesians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Perry Meridian scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Fisher Dunscombe paced Martinsville's offense, picking up eight kills. Dunscombe got some help from Garrett Gardner and his 18 assists. Finally, Adrian Kerguelen kept Martinsville's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Perry Meridian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
